Ebony Sloan posted an update in the group Cooking A scoop of canned cream of mushroom for some reason solves all cheese sauce problems
Cheese sauces (for mac and cheese, fries, nachos) made of only natural cheese are famously difficult, with slight issues resulting in grainy or partially separated sauces. I tend to shy away from american cheese as a solution, it\'s great, but if I wanted that I\'d just make boxed mac and cheese.

I was making a cheese sauce based on a classic roux method, and I realized that cream of mushroom soup is basically a thinned roux with mushroom/mushroom stock. If you just use it as the base, and then add cheese (and milk/cream to required thinness), it basically takes no effort and was super smooth. I was pretty stunned. I imagine that it might have something to do with some emulsifiers in the soup beyond just the roux, but it was pretty foolproof.

It also tasted pretty amazing, but I love mushrooms. I dunno, try it or something.

I love colour but I\'m so pale I struggle to carry any off without a full face of make up. Much as I\'d love to, a glow up every day is not practical 🤣

I normally stick to light blues, grey, navy, pink and green, some deep red...

I\'d say I\'m fashionable but I\'m not an adventurous dresser, I\'ve got an awkward shape so really I wanna be displaying personality with colours or prints rather than unique pieces.

I think at least once a month I bite my tongue or the inside of my mouth while easting. And the wounds just hurt way too much, much more than they should, and take way too long to heal! Then eating, drinking, kissing, brushing teeth... feel awful and hurt too much for a very long time. It feels like it\'s only me because I don\'t see this discussed at all.

Jillian Parkinson posted an update I don’t understand where the fashion trends are expecting us to put our bras.
In the early 2000s bra straps were ugly and plain and to be hidden. In the 2010s-pre Covid bra straps were either lacy and designed to be seen, or we wore bralettes that were so long they could be worn as a layer on their own (and they came with nipple padding!).

When bras weren’t to be shown, cap sleeves were everywhere unless you had strapless bra or were in club wear. When bras were to be shown, bare shoulders, cut outs/see through appliqués at the shoulders, and thin straps holding up dresses/shirts was perfect.

Now the bras I’m seeing are plain straps again, bralettes don’t cover enough to stop nipples poking through, and all the summer fashions have sleeves placed so bra straps are guaranteed to show.

I’m in a large department store right now looking at the displays and my fellow shoppers and the difference is night and day. We’re all wearing sleeves! It’s too hot for this nonsense but bra straps are ugly again. But literally none of the 14 mannequins around me are wearing outfits conducive to concealing bras.

Where are the cute bras OR the sleeves. Designers I’ll take anything right now. Pick one and run with it. Not all of us can #freethenipple, it freaking hurts to go unsupported for many (dare I say most?) bra sizes.

What is the trend supposed to be? I’m looking at inspo and I’m seeing either pasties or people holding onto the bralette trend. Pasties aren’t supportive dammit. Am I just not following the “correct” on trend inspo? Because it looks like lots of people are just as bewildered as me.

What are you weari and who are you following?

Ebony Sloan posted an update Would be a bad Idea to wear a dress on a plane?
I have a 5+ hour flight to see my long distance bf and I really want to look nice bc he hasn’t seen me in months

I land at 2am so I probably wont have the time or energy to get gussied up, the most i’ll do after tsa and the flight is pack some jewelry for later

I want to wear a dark red dress that matches my luggage and do my makeup and accessorize accordingly (and to tsa ofc)

The dress in question would cut off about halfway down my thighs, leaving my legs exposed. I plan to wear white sneakers or comfy shoes, very casual
